BAS Cares Walk-In Career Clinic with a Twist!

Our next career clinic will continue to offer help from experienced congregants in one-on-one meetings. We will begin the session with a 20-minute group discussion, and then pick up with individual support.

Cinematech Bi'Bet Am

This evening we will screen "Iyim Avudim", "Lost Islands",
with English subtitles, followed by a facilitated discussion over coffee and cake in the tradition of the Israeli Cinematech. In 2008, Lost Island won four Israel academy awards --"Best Actor" Michael Moshonov, "Best Supporting Actor" Shmil Ben Ari, "Best Music", "Best Costume Design" --plus received 10 more nominations.

"Those Who Show Us the Path". Join us as we honor Bet Am Shalom member Ann Schaffer, a leader in our own congregatin and in the greater Jewish community.

Help us provide food, clothing and a little companionship to homeless people living on the streets of Manhattan. We need donations, help with preparation and volunteers to go on the Run!

Social Action Concert featuring songwriter/folksinger Lewis Franco

Lewis Franco returns to Bet Am Shalom! Those who were present at his 2006 concert will remember the warmth and humor of his past appearance. A dessert reception will follow the concert.

Proceeds benefit The Children's Center for Learning (a Headstart program for homeless children) and the Midnight Run.

Social Action Project: "Growing Together"

This is the 3rd phase of our joint Kol Ami and BAS Social Action Family and Teen Project, Growing Together,  funded by New York Federation UJA. Help us build a vegetable garden with the youth of the Elm Street Neighborhood Center in Yonkers. Bring your rakes and garden tools (please label!)
We will provide some kosher for Passover snacks!

Midnight Run

Our Haggadah tells us "Let all who are hungry, come and eat.” During this Passover, please help those who are hungry, have food to eat.
