In an effort to create one community of families, we designed a series of Family Learning Experiences for our Hebrew School and Day School families. The programs revolve around Kabbalat Shabbat, Shabbat morning, Havdallah and special Sunday morning Learning Experiences, all described below. We hope that many families will participate and that a wonderful synergy will emerge from this joining of all of our BAS families.
This is an opportunity to celebrate and get to know BAS community better, as Day School and Hebrew School families are warmly invited to participate. For the lower grades there will be a special family-friendly Kabbalat Shabbat Service. The older grades will join the regular service. Services are followed by a Shabbat dinner and will include a short, fun program between dinner and dessert, singing and maybe even some dancing. Services start at 6:15 PM.
The popular BAS Havdalah program continues this year. The one-hour program is fun, family-friendly and ends with the beautiful Havdalah service. Dates: November 20, December 4, January 29, February 5 and March 5.
This is a family-friendly Shabbat morning service that runa parallel to the main service. It is for students in grades 2 to 5 and their families and is followed by a light lunch which includes blessings, songs and surprises. The program starts at 10:30 AM. Dates: October 16, November 13, January 8, February 12, March 26 and May 14.
This is a special learning opportunity for students in each grade plus parent(s). One Sunday a year, each grade will have a 2 hour learning program for parent(s) and children together. Families will join the school-wide assembly at 9 AM, then proceed to the program. A light snack will be served.
