Mishloach Manot--Purim Gift Bags

The Purim gift bags are packed and ready for delivery. Please help deliver them to all BAS congregants!

We hope that all BAS members will take part in this joyful custom and now established BAS observance that commemorates the joy of the Persian Jews' liberation from Haman's threats.

Now that we've ordered bags and baked and frozen over 2500 hamantaschen, there's more to do. You can:

  • Help to pack the gift bags (Tuesday, 2/23 from 10am-3pm; Wednesday, 2/24 from 7-10pm; Thursday, 2/25 from 7-10pm CANCELLED AS ALL THE BAGS WERE PACKED ON TUESDAY!)
  • Help to drive our teenagers to a home for developmentally-challenged adults and the home-bound elderly and
  • Help to deliver packages to other congregants
(Pick-up at BAS: Friday, 2/26 from 9am-2pm; Saturday, 2/27 before evening Purim services; Sunday, 2/28 from 9am-2pm)

To volunteer: email cynehren [at] optonline [dot] net (subject: mishloach%20manot%20volunteer) (Cynthia Ehrenkranz)

Here are some congregant reactions to our program in past years:

“ . . . The faces of the people as they got their packages were a real gift – puzzled, surprised, and then so grateful and moved! It made me so happy!”

“I just want you to know what a joy it was for me to participate, even for the small amount of time I was able to give. It made my holiday much more fun and meaningful.”

“I had tears in my eyes when I opened that bag. It really means a lot to me.”
